The 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held virtually on November 28, 2022. After the initial business portion was concluded, those present were treated to the President’s Year in Review. This included several “firsts”, such as securing a notable, first-ever, international speaker and virtual world audience for Nikola Tesla Day. Another highlight was the NTHSA’s outdoor celebration honouring long-time volunteers at the grounds of Government House, in the beautiful Korean Pavilion.
In late summer, the NTHSA formed a partnership with our Tesla sister societies in Calgary (Calgary Tesla Society) and Hamilton (Nikola Tesla Educational Corporation), along with support from Athabasca University, to pursue a Mitacs Grant – leading to research to ensure Tesla’s contributions were acknowledged in future editions of science textbooks. To fund our portion of the project, our Society held its first fundraiser, which was very successful, and exceeded our target goal. The AGM ended with our trademark Tesla Tales and other Tesla-themed stories.
