Edmonton’s Nikola Tesla Day, 2025
July 12th marked our third annual celebration of Nikola Tesla Day in collaboration with TELUS World of Science–Edmonton.
The program featured a repeat of the very popular pencil and paper scavenger hunt, where participants read about and answered questions about Nikola Tesla and his inventions which were posted at several stations in the facility. Entries with the correct answers were eligible for door prizes with the top prize being a Plasma Ball. Other activities back by popular demand were the indoor and outdoor remote-controlled boat games, science demonstrations at the Syncrude Stage, a youth arts and crafts corner featuring Nikola Tesla-related activities, and the display table with extensive Nikola Tesla memorabilia, books, and complementary souvenir items of Tesla stickers and bookmarks.
At two o’clock in the impressive Zeidler Dome, the NTHSA premiered its Tesla Tales Across the Globe– a film expressly made for Nikola Tesla Day 2025– representing the first global birthday card of virtual birthday greetings and tributes to Nikola Tesla from all corners of the world by people honoring his outstanding achievements for the betterment of humanity.
Edmonton’s High Level Bridge was also illuminated along its length in blue lights, as has now become customary on Tesla’s birthday, ever since the Mayor’s proclamation of Nikola Tesla Day in in 2019.
After the program concluded, over a dozen NTHSA volunteers, Board members and Mr. Frank Florian of TELUS World of Science–Edmonton gathered at a local restaurant to unwind after another busy and successful Nikola Tesla Day.
